DESCRIPTION
The extrusion granulation is a new technology of producing compound fertilizer by dry granulation process. The earliest application of extrusion granulation is for potassium chloride granulation and granular (1-4mm) potassium chloride for doped mixed fertilizers (BB). In the recent years, the extrusion granulation is rapidly developed and used in the production of compound fertilizer in China.
Extrusion granulation has two kinds of rollers, double roller and wheel roller. The double roller type extrusion is press the material into large first, and then breaks it into particles; the double roller has high particle strength and required low energy consumption. The wheel roller can directly made material into the shape according to the mold in the roller surface; the product strength is lower and it may need to add the binder to the product. It is suitable for organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
The roller type extrusion granulation is: the dry material is extruded into agglomerate (cake), and the cake material will be crushed and sieved and come out as granular material. The extrusion process is squeezed out the air from the particles and force the particle spacing close enough to produce such as van der Waals force, adhesive force, crystal bridge, and embedded connection suction force. The granules are mainly formed by the interaction between molecules.
